About me
I am a professional visual artist with over 20 years experience as a full time primary school teacher. I build living willow structures, run art and craft workshops and paint personalised murals in schools, public buildings and private homes around the Lancashire area.
My background is in furniture making and illustrating.
After graduating from Manchester Polytechnic with a degree in 3D Design I spent many years as a designer and maker of carved wooden furniture exhibiting around the country including... 'Interior Design International' (Solo exhibition with Chartered Society of Designers) Earls Court, London 'New Designers' The Business Design Centre, Islington, 'West Midlands Crafts Open' (year long touring exhibition) |
Taking my teaching outdoors is very important to me and has led to my discovery of the amazing properties of living willow. I now create sculptural commissions for both private and public spaces. Lessons in wigloos, tunnels and domes give children a chance to experience nature which is often missing in their lives.
